Train from San Sebastián, Spain to Bordeaux, France, Then rental car east across France to Chamonix

In the spring of 2023 Duke and I took an eight and a half week trip. We started in Morocco and ended in the Czech Republic. In this video we are traveling with our friends Rick and Elaine from Donastia/San Sebastián on the French Spanish border to Bordeaux and then by rental car across France to Switzerland.

In Bordeaux we ate at Les Drôles Restaurant. The street lights shining off the wet pavement made Bordeaux magical. The next morning we took a cab to the airport and picked up our rental car.

We drove to Domme and stayed out in the country at Le Relais des Galets overlooking the Dordogne River. For dinner we drove across the river to Le Wedge Bistro at Domaine de Rochebois.
Before leaving Le Relais des Galets we went for a walk on the cliff above the river and had breakfast at the hand crafted breakfast table.

Our next stop was Uzerche where we stayed at Hôtel Joyet de Maubec and walked aong the river.

In the village of Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise we stayed at Chambres d’hôtes Villa Chantebise. They had wood chip toilets We ate fondue in the village at Les Fondues du Sancy.

Our final night in France we stayed at La Bageatière overlooking Lac d’Aiguebelette. We ate overlooking the lake at Les Roselières restaurant.

From Lac d’Aiguebelette we drove to Chamonix and had lunch at L’alt café before going over the mountains to Switzerland.
