Inside the Real Dorne: Royal Alcazar of Seville | Game of Thrones Filming Location Revealed! #spain
Step into the real-world setting of Dorne from *Game of Thrones*!
The Royal Alcázar of Seville, or Real Alcázar de Sevilla, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest palaces in Europe still in use. Its stunning Mudéjar architecture, lush gardens, and intricate tile work made it the perfect backdrop for the Water Gardens of Dorne in seasons 5 and 6 of the show.
We visited the exact spots where iconic scenes were filmed — from the tranquil gardens where Ellaria Sand plotted her moves, to the beautiful patios seen in Prince Doran’s palace. To experience the same, book your ticket online in advance (highly recommended!) and opt for the general visit, which includes access to the palace and gardens. Entry is free on Mondays in the last hour of the day, but it gets crowded.
🎟 Entry Fee: €13.50 (general admission)
🕰 Recommended Visit Time: 2–3 hours
📍 Location: Patio de Banderas, s/n, 41004 Sevilla, Spain
🚶♀️ Tip: Go early morning or late afternoon to avoid peak crowds and get the best lighting for photos.
Whether you’re a history lover or a GoT fan, the Royal Alcázar is an unforgettable stop in Seville.
