Solo in the Sierra S2E1 Part One: Horseshoe Meadow to Whitney Portal
The second season opener for Solo in the Sierra details the first half of my journey through the High Sierra from Horseshoe Meadow to Whitney Portal in June of 2023. Backpacking through the High Sierra and summiting Mt. Whitney in a single trip has long been a fever dream of mine. The record winter year resulted in the snowpack starting at 10,200′, turned stream crossings into torrents of water, and made route finding more difficult. This video covers the first 2 days of this 5 day epic.

All regulations regarding Wilderness Areas and National Parks were adhered to. All drone usage occured in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. The drone was taken off and landed outside of any designated National Park, Wilderness Area, or no-fly zone. Do not fly in these areas.
