Sobre los restos de murallas romanas y renacentista, en las orillas de la bahía de Palma, se eleva La Catedral-Basílica de Santa María en Palma conocida como “La Seu”.
Es de estilo gótico teniendo -en ese estilo- el mayor rosetón de catedrales europeas (13 metros de diametro). La nave de su bóveda principal es también de las mas elevadas (45 metros).
La restauración de la Catedral de Santa María de Palma de Mallorca fue realizada por el arquitecto modernista Antoni Gaudí entre 1903 y 1914 y desde el 2001 al 2006 el artista mallorquín Miguel Barcelo realizó el altar de la capilla del Santísimo.

On the remains of Roman and Renaissance walls, on the shores of the Bay of Palma, rises the Cathedral-Basilica of Santa María in Palma, known as “La Seu”.
It is in the Gothic style and has, in that style, the largest rose window of any European cathedral (13 meters in diameter). The nave of its main vault is also one of the highest (45 meters).
The restoration of the Cathedral of Santa María in Palma de Mallorca was carried out by the modernist architect Antoni Gaudí between 1903 and 1914, and from 2001 to 2006, the Mallorcan artist Miguel Barcelo designed the altar of the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament.
