DJI Air 3S Drone & GoPro Video, Reopened Deer Creek Picnic Area, Mt. Charleston, Nevada
Thank you to all the volunteers who worked to get this area (and other Mt. Charleston areas), opened for the public to enjoy! Deer Creek Picnic Area lies in a deep, narrow canyon. Deer creek is a beautiful alpine stream that cuts the canyon down the steep flanks of Mummy Mountain. Because of the water, many birds come to drink and bathe, making this an ideal area to bird as well. Our hike took us past the picnic area, a restroom facility that hasn’t been in use for decades, a private residential area, and finally to remnants of the old campground. The Deer Creek Picnic area reopened after damages from the 2023 hurricane were repaired.
