Barcelona Day 1 | Casa Batlló, Gothic Quarter & Sagrada Família
Our first day in Barcelona was packed with unforgettable sights and Gaudí’s masterpieces. Fresh off the Celebrity Ascent cruise, we checked into the Majestic Hotel on Passeig de Gràcia and set off to explore the city:
✅ Touring Casa Batlló, Gaudí’s incredible “House of Bones”
✅ Walking down Las Ramblas and stopping at the lively Mercado de la Boqueria
✅ Visiting the Gothic Quarter’s treasures: Santa Maria del Mar, Barcelona Cathedral, and the mysterious Pont del Bisbe
✅ Taking a guided tour of Park Güell
✅ Ending with a magical visit to the Sagrada Família, Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece We also share tips for visiting the Sagrada Família—like why late afternoon tickets are the best—and highlight some of Gaudí’s fascinating design choices.
This was an amazing way to kick off our time in Barcelona!
