72 Hours in the Basque Country | San Sebastián, Gaztelugatxe, Bilbao & Puerto Viejo

[Music] Some people come here for the beaches, others for the art. Me, I came for all of it. And in just 72 hours, San Sebastian and Bil Bao, gave me more than I ever expected. San Sebastian, a city by the sea that feels calm and alive all at once. It’s the kind of place where the day begins slow with the sound of waves and people wandering through quiet streets. Every corner has its own charm. Small cafes, bustling plazas, and locals going about their day. You don’t need an agenda here. Just walking around feels like part of the experience. [Music] After San Sebastian, we left the city behind, hit the road, and followed the coastline. A couple of hours later, we arrived at one of the Basque country’s most iconic spots. Gasta Lugatics, known to many as Dragon Stone from Game of Thrones, but in reality, it’s a tiny island with a small chapel sitting high above the sea. Walking across the stone bridge and climbing those endless steps, it feels like you step straight into a fantasy world. [Music] From Gaza Lugatics, we continued our journey along the winding coastal roads heading towards Bil Bao. After hours on the road, Bil Bao finally comes into view. A city that feels different from anywhere else in the Bass Country. Bigger, bolder, yet still carrying its own unique rhythm. Walking through the streets, you feel the mix of old and new. Traditional buildings sit alongside sleek modern designs, and every corner has its own energy. The river cuts right through the heart of the city, reflecting both history and progress. After exploring Bil Bao, we made our way to Port of Viejo, a small fishing village just outside the city. [Music] narrow streets, whitewashed houses, and colorful shutters give it a charm that feels worlds away from the bustle of Dilbao. [Music] Life here is slower, quieter with locals gathering in small plazas, sharing food, drinks, and stories as the seab breeze rolls in. [Music] It’s the perfect place to end a long day. Simple, authentic, and full of character. In just 3 days, the Basque Country gave us beaches, villages, city life, and unforgettable moments. It’s a trip I won’t forget anytime soon.
