Explore AMAZING Seville’s Secret Spots Now!

Sevij and we are just having a little stroll around. It’s a Sunday so heaps of stuff is closed but there’s still a few bits and pieces around and we are just enjoying the scenery so far. It’s really pretty. It’s nice. The buildings are amazing. I think I read earlier that it’s one of the oldest cities in Spain. Yes, you did. It’s founded by Romans. So, and look at this building. How cool is this? So cool. Good morning. Today we are going to do a flamnco class. Well, it’s not actually morning, it’s afternoon, but we’re going to do the class at 1:00. So, we got about an hour. And we’re just at a cafe that’s right opposite the host. He says it has uh good vibes and brunch all day. So, we like that. Uh so, yeah, we’re dressed in our red and our black as requested by our flamingco teachers and yeah, it’s going to be lots of fun. Looking forward to it. [Music] All right, come on out. [Music] We just finished our flamco class. How was it, Bri? A lot of fun. She was a really good teacher. Really enthusiastic. Awesome. Very passionate. She made it very fun. Yes, she did. And she reminded me of Salah Hayek and she was a total babe. Of course. Yeah, it was so fun and um really good crew. Like everyone gave it a good red hot crack. So we got to use a scarf as an accessory prop and also a flower in our hair. Yes. And I hire some flamco shoes so I could do that with more dramatic sound effect but with my feet. Um and we did a lot of this, a lot of arms. And then we got to record our final dance so that we know Yes. how uncoordinated we may be. need that back yet. So, we might not even be in it. Who knows? Yeah, we might recording the person next to us. You’ll be able to see how the others looked. Um, but no, it was a really good class. Definitely recommend. It’s a really fun way to learn a bit of culture. Yeah, it was good. Yeah. Awesome. Today we are Where are we going? We’re going to Triana. We hope so. Anyway, if we don’t get lost. That’s the plan. The final destination. So apparently it’s a really good neighborhood to go and have a walk around and they have like um like artisan shops and crafts and I don’t know who knows. And it’s near the river. Near the river. Yeah. We’re going to cross over the river. River yet? No. Except for coming in on the bus. Yes. Yes. So it should be a good day and we will definitely keep you posted. Uh and show you some footage of Triana. [Music] Hola. They look yummy. Do you want to try some? Oo. Um, maybe one or two. Okay. So, we are at the Triana Market and I’ve just picked up a couple of things from Manuel Figueroa Romero. So, they have pinchos and um in the market. So, I just thought I’d give it a go. I literally just had yogurt for breakfast and now I’m having orange wine which is a local favorite in Seville and I’m actually excited to drink this. I I hardly ever drink at home like ever. But I’m doing this for you, okay? I want you to experience this with me. So, orange wine and then I just got some bean and some hamon and so cheese and ham and I know let’s have a little taste, shall we? They do ham so well now. [Music] It’s so good. I’m interested to know what these taste like. When we were in Portugal at the best hostel of all time, which is the I love tourist, Lisbon, we had like they call it like a family dinner and we had a traditional cuisine on the menu and they were amazing there. Actually, they cuz they knew I was gluten-free, they went out and bought like a whole basket of gluten-free bread and had a whole bunch of stuff for me. But we tried these things. I don’t know if they’re the same. Um, let’s see. They taste different. They’re very like vinegary. Yeah. I don’t think the other ones that we had in Portugal were wet like that. Were they roasted or something? Like they’ve been cooked. I think they initially soaked them, but then you like flipped the shells off cuz I remember pinging someone. Kind of peel the middle out of the outing. Yeah. And it was very slippery work and I was not a good guest. But I don’t know. I don’t know about these. I will say this is freaking expensive. Do they still taste nice? They’re okay. Do you want to try one? Yeah, I’ll try one. Yeah, have a try. Um, let me know your thoughts. [Music] Quite vinegary like and salty. Yeah, they kind of taste buttery and Yeah. vinegary and salty. They’ve got a nice flavor though. I like them. They do. They do. Well, you’re welcome to help me eat these. Bit of a crunch to the bite. Yes. I will say not very cost effective. So, this little plate and this little one cost me €965, which doesn’t sound bad, but then when you do it in Australian dollars, we almost have to double everything. Our dollar is so bad at the moment. So quite quite pricey, but I’m excited to just eat some authentic food and drink some authentic wine and I’ll be smashed after this. Taste the pleasures of Spain. Just [Music] Okay, so a little update. We are now removing the shell of the bean because that’s what we did in Portugal, which is why I was flinging people across the table accidentally. and they didn’t enjoy it. Uh, but I was reading as well that apparently eating them with the skins on can be difficult for your digestion. So, um, Lord knows I don’t need any more issues in that area. So, from now on it’s shells up. Also, they taste good with the shell off because you don’t get that initial like what it’s been soaking in. So, it’s a bit subtler the flavor. So yeah, it’ll be a skins off if I can if I can get them off. Yeah, that happens too. Oops. A few go on the floor. Yeah, it’s not full. Wasted produce. Yeah. All these little squares across southern Spain in the heat of summer, they are dead during the day. But at night, they really come alive with bars and cafes and really bustle. Right now, we’re in the Santa Cruz area. It’s absolutely beautiful, but it is 41° today, and everyone fiestas at this time of day, so it’s super quiet. Understandably, no one really comes out until the evenings, and then that’s when Seville becomes magical. So, the Hotel Alonso was built between 1916 and 1928. Yeah. And it’s now a Marriott hotel. Fivestar luxury with a pool sounds right up our alley. Yes. If someone would like to sponsor a visit for us there, we would happily take it. However, it’s a little bit out of my price range. Beautiful though. Stunning. Yeah. Stunning from the outside. And that’s what the inside’s going to look like with all its decor. Exactly. I wish. We just went into the shops, Luca, and I bought two natural perfumes. I’m so excited. I love natural perfumes. I’ve talked about that on the channel before because I don’t like all the crap that’s in mainstream perfumes. There’s like basically just alcohol and then with a few other bits and pieces thrown in. The perfume industry isn’t regulated, so anything could be in there. And also, they trigger migraines for me. So, I’m really excited. I got these beautiful perfumes from this gorgeous little shop near the Al Kazar. Um, and the girl in there was so sweet and it’s like a family business. So, her mom is the one who creates the perfumes and she’s in there with her auntie today. Yes, she was in there with her auntie today. today and she does a beautiful job of it. And all of the perfumes have an orange blossom base. And so there’s like a fresher side and then there’s a like a more like wintry side. So I bought one fragrance from each each side. And let me show you what they are. Hang on. Okay. So, at the moment, I’ve got this one, which is India’s on my left arm. And this one is the kind of like heavier one. So, it smells like coffee, orange blossom, uh, vanilla, I think. And what’s the other thing? Yeah, I’m can’t read it. It’s in Spanish and I I’m not fluent yet. Um, so that’s on that. And then on this side is the kind of lighter one. This is called estrea and this one has orange blossom fig and other things. Do you remember any of them? I don’t remember. This smells really good. And that’s on this arm. And so basically I’m going to attract men of every variety. They want like dark and mysterious, they can have this one. They were like, “Oh, pretty and fun and fresh. They can have this light.” Perfect. Um, and the girl in the shop was saying cuz we said we hadn’t planned where we’re going after kitties and she said we should go to Portugal and I was like, “Yeah, we should.” Um, and she also suggested going to a flamco show that she went to here with her Italian boyfriend and she said it was really intimate and good and they can do a drink. So, we might have to book that, I think. But yeah, definitely if you’re in Brazil, I recommend you pop in here and smell the beautiful natural fragrances. Wow. So, we got really lucky today because we are doing a tour. We booked a tour and we were the only two people that booked it. So, we’re having a private tour of the Alcazar, which is really cool. Alberto is really good so far. Very lucky for us. Very lucky. We’re just having a wandering around the gardens at the moment. And so far, amazing. The inside of this palace is stunning, too. Like, so beautiful. What? [Music] I need to look at it. As if the spectacular mudar walls and tiles weren’t enough, that golden dome is truly breathtaking to see in person. And it’s actually made out of wood, which is really surprising. It represents the heavens. The gardens of the Alazar are beautiful just like the inside. The real Alcazar of Seville really is spectacular. And after a day of exploring the stunning palace and the gardens in the hot Spanish sun, we need some nourishment. We found a gluten-free restaurant in Seville called Senora Pan and we love that it’s gluten-free. We do. We’ve already got our food and it looks yummy. Bri, what’s yours? Mine’s burger. So, um, beef and cheese and the meat looks amazing. With some potato chips. Yeah. And a little bit of a side salad. Delicious. And I have got chicken wings on Brazilian couscous. And the sauce has guava in it. So I’m really excited to try that. Also, the bread here is amazing and and homemade and just delicious. So Oh, and we got mango smoothies. And the tour was great that we just went on. So we’re I was starving by the time we finished that. So now it’s food time. [Music] My name [Music] I can go together. [Applause] [Music] [Music] Okay, we just finished our flamingo show. We did. Uh, it does make it sound like we did it. We didn’t do it. We were watching it. Yes. And we had a tinto, which was very nice. The the wine that they do with like soda or lemonade. I think it’s lemonade. Um it’s really nice. Yeah. You can tell it’s got a sweetness about it. Like there’s a like soft drink in it. Yeah. Cuz I’m not a wine girl, but I like sangria and I like the gintoint deano. Um which is like summer wine cuz summer I’m pretty sure. Anyway, um the show was great. So it was like a guitarist, a singer, so two two men and then a female dancer. And she was fantastic. And she came out with Oops. So she had a fan. Yeah. Shaw in the first one, an orange shaw. And then she came out with a fan. And what else did she have? So three changes of outfit. Yeah. She had Yeah. Outfit changes. She came out in a sparkly bolero at the end. Yes. Which we like. Like a matador. Yes. Really cool. Bolero. Yeah. Really cool. And um it was very intimate. So there might have been like 30 people there. Not even. Oh yeah, that’s hard to judge. Yeah, not many. Um, so very intimate and it went for an hour and we Yeah, we really enjoyed it, didn’t we? Yes, it was really good. It’s always so amazing to see different styles of flamco. Yeah. So yeah, can definitely recommend that one. Uh, it was the exclusiva flamco in CIA. was in the I the sand. What’s this area? Sam, why am I blanking? Uh, is it up there on the street? It’s like a famous Santa. Santa Cruz. Not Santa Cruz. It’s a Santa Cruz bario. Yes, I think. We’ll check that. Yeah, we’ll go with that. I feel like I say that all the time in this video. We’ll check that. We’ll get back to you. But anyway, it was amazing and the atmosphere here is absolutely beautiful. This is when the people come out and you can understand why because it’s really hot during the day but and we’ve got the entertainment and everything. So yeah, perfect. [Music] Oh, the dog singing knows this one. [Music] Plaza del Cabildo is absolutely gorgeous. If you’re not looking for it, you’ll miss it. But it’s definitely worth visiting. And if you’re there, check out Lut Desa for the most beautiful perfumes. Hello Today’s our last full day in Sevija and I have been and bought two more perfumes from the most beautiful fragrance shops. It’s so it’s such a cute It’s familyowned. It’s the one I went to the other day. I bought two perfumes the other day and I’ve got two more. So when I go home, I’ve got four perfumes to choose from depending on my mood. Whatever the mood you’re in. Yeah, exactly. And the girl is just so sweet. Lucia, her name is. She’s stunning. She’s so beautiful and she’s so kind and put up with my procrastination just beautifully. Um like just buy solve the problem. Yeah, I smell really good now. And so yeah, we um I definitely want to talk about their store because it’s lovely. There’s they have two locations and the one that we went to today is in a beautiful little plaza. It’s the painting on the on the walls is gorgeous. It’s got like kind of flowers frescoed on. Um, so it’s definitely worth uh visiting. And now we have got cookies. So Bri’s got a a chocolate cookie and I’ve got a fancy next level cookie which I already tipped on my dress because that’s I’m really good at that stuff. And look, but it’s got like it’s got a bulge and I’m pretty sure that there’s filling in that bulge. This is passion fruit. And the bakery is called Chalk. Ch H O K. And it’s all gluten-free. Yes. We’re still sitting out in front of it. Yes. In case we decide we want to purchase something else. Exactly. So, yeah. And then later we’re going to go see the Plaza de Espña. But we thought we’d do that like as it starts to get a bit later so that it’s a bit cooler because it’s all outdoors and in the sun here it’s like over 40. Yeah. It’s very hot humid. Yeah. And even though very sweaty. Yeah. We like the heat. That’s fine. But like being to be out in it all day. Yeah. We want to really be able to enjoy the experience as well and not just be like, “Oh my god, we’re dying. Get out of here.” So, yes, that’s the plan. I wasn’t going to film a video, but now I think I have to because we’re in a restaurant called Macambo, Real Food Club, and they have a lot of gluten-free options. And also, this dropped some lettuce. This this meal is so yummy. I’m sorry if you can see that I picked it apart cuz I didn’t think of this until just now. But on this thing, I have got like pear in honey, goats cheese, um a beautiful caramelized onion sauce with some bacon, arugula, I got avocado, I got that extra. Um and it’s just it’s so yummy. Like there’s cherry tomatoes, which Bri is going to take advantage of. Um and it’s just it’s delicious. So, if you are in Seville and looking for somewhere to eat, I can recommend. I was just saying I feel like the food in southern Spain has actually been really nice. And we’re salty because we’re very lucky being from Australia. We have such good food at home. So, yeah, I I thought it it deserved a mention. Delicious. And uh in case you’re wondering what the name of my dish is, it’s the cab. And Bri has the keto, which also looks good. And is it yummy, Bri? Yes. So, two fried eggs, two pieces of bacon, y uh some pulled chicken. Yeah. And some avocado with the option of sourdough bread as well. And all the food comes out looking yummy. But it’s looking messy right now obviously because we started eating before filming obviously. But it’s just so worth the So I’m eating my cookie finally in my pajamas. And in the middle the big mound that I had. I think it’s cookie dough and it’s really delicious. Wow. Spain’s really doing great treats. Yeah. Great sweet treats. Yes. M and healthy food for meals. Well, I don’t know if it’s healthy, but Yeah, we had a good healthy meal today. It’s delicious. Their food’s just really Yeah. tasty and fresh and delicious. Yeah. Whether it’s a healthy choice or an unhealthy choice, cuz we’ve also had pizza while we’ve been here, too. Mhm. Burgers. Mhm. It’s all been yummy. Mhm. Yeah. No disappointment with the food. No. Um and can definitely recommend Chop Bakery. This was such a happy accident. While we were on our walk to Plaza de Esta, we stumbled across this procession for the Virgin del Carmon de Calatraa. So Carmen is Lena de los Marz or the queen of the seas and she’s celebrated in Spanish coastal towns. So why is she celebrated in Seville? Well, because it has the river Guadal guier connecting it to maritime history. So, this procession is a brilliant spectacle with brass bands, flower decked thrones, and big crowds. Carmen even gets to take a spin on the river. Yeah, she’s a lucky lady. The float is made out of wood and porcelain, and when she’s not out and about, she spends most of the year behind glass in her own chapel. She also likes long walks on the beach. It’s hard to describe it, but honestly, this was a really, really special thing to witness. And yeah, just a joy. Very cool. when you’re walking in Seville and there’s just one of these around every corner. Wow. Seriously, I cannot even begin to explain the feeling that I had when we came across the beautiful site of the Plaza de Espña. It was mind-blowing. Just when you think Seville can’t get any more magical, uh, it does. It is such a beautiful city. I get it. Like, I really get it why everyone thinks it’s so spectacular cuz it really truly is stunning. It’s like a royalty, isn’t it? Yeah. Wow. It was built for the Abero American exhibition in 1929 and it is the most spectacular cresant shape with foot bridges over the water. There’s two beautiful towers at each end. And really cool part of it as well, there are 52 benches with the most colorful, exquisite tiled frescos. You’ll see them in a sec. And with every fresco, each one represents a different Spanish province. So, Spanish tourists love to go and sit and take photos in the one that represents where they’re from. There was a bit of maintenance happening when we were there, so the fountain wasn’t working, but normally there is a beautiful fountain in the middle of the water as well. And you can rent little paddle boats and go for a little spin on the water as well. Isn’t that amazing? I just cannot recommend more highly heading to the Plaza de Espña. And if you’re there in summer, dusk is the most beautiful time to go. They have beautiful buskers there and it’s just a magical atmosphere. Really incredible. It’s so magical. I feel like we’re in a Disney movie. The surroundings are spectacular. The air is warm. There’s a little breeze around and the there’s buskers creating the most beautiful ambiance with the music. The Plaza de Espa is so worth visiting. It was built in the 1920s and 1928. Yeah. 1928 and it’s such a powerful beautiful representation of the different styles of architecture that were around at that time. The Barack and the Moorish and the way that the styles combine all around Seville just creates the most stunning architecture. Just don’t don’t miss the Plaza Despa and it’s really special at nighttime. Definitely recommend. Yes, it’ be a hot day to be here. Yeah, it would be roasting in the middle of the day but it’s beautiful. [Music]
