Seville from Costa Blanca: €15 Flights, 1 Hour Away (Our 4-Day Adventure)
Living in Costalanca means Seville is closer than London was when we lived in the UK. 1-hour flight from 15. We visit Plaza Espa, the world’s largest Gothic Cathedral, the AlkaZar, and more. And this is why retiring to Spain opens up all of Europe. We just spent 4 days in Seville, and we’re going to show you exactly how easy and affordable it is from Costlanca. Let’s go. Spain. We booked our flights through Ryan Air. And as you can see, you can get flights from Alakanti to Seville for $14.99 each and then return $14.99 Seville to Alakanti. A bargain. [Music] This is our apartment here. We’re on the first floor. which is quite big. It’s three bedroomedroom apartment for two of us. A bit ridiculous, but huge wardrobes. Got the cupboard space, second level bedroom, nice little balcony onto the street, TV. Very good little kitchen. I should say it’s a very good kitchen for Spanish apartment. Massive fridge and a freezer, microwave, oven, and cooker. Third bedroom, which is just a little single looks out onto a quite nice central atrium area. Got a shower with smelly stuff. Toilet and there is I did see some of the haird dryer and haird dryer at the bottom there. Civil Cathedral in front of us and the tower it’s called. There’s the famous civil the horses and carts wagons. What do you call them? Wagons, carriages. We’re in the old town area surrounding the cathedral. You know, the little side streets have got the most fantastic bars and things in them. It’s making me very hungry. It’s nice. Cool place. I’ve got cookie caramel and triple chocolate. Sue’s got a white chocolate white chocolate. Just waiting outside the cathedral for the parade to begin. Just to show you that it’s not always sunny in Spain. We’re in Seville and where it’s called the frying pan of Spain. Probably hasn’t rained for 6 months here. Yeah. And the day we arrived, the rain started. That was typical. We waited for ages in the rain, waiting for the parade to start. And the second we come into the restaurant, uh, sat down, ordered, we heard the drum starting and the parade starting as well. Just ordered tapas. So, we’ve got pork cheeks, spinach, and chickpeas, uh, pork and tomato sauce, and fries, of course. We didn’t miss the parade after all. I’ve just abandoned my tapas. Come out, see what’s happening. This is where we had our tapas. It’s casa fles up from the cathedral. Lots of nice restaurants here. Tapaz bars. See all the hammons hanging up in the bar. There’s a couple of shops selling all religious articles. If it’s a Spanish city, it must be Alihop. There’s a pizza by the slice shop. I think I’ve ever seen a big range of pizzas before. It’s a lovely building. Tiles on the outside. Yeah, it’s lovely inside as well. Yeah, the restaurant and two floors. Salmon shop. Look at this. The ham hanging out the edges. Bad deals. [Music] This is a pretty cool spot for a cup of coffee and a carrot cake. [Music] Right underneath the setters. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] When we got back to the apartment and turned on the TV, we switched to our local channel and there was the parade that we just saw a few minutes ago. It’s Monday morning and today we’re joining a tourist walk around the city center. Reuben as our guide. Uh Sue organized it all, but I’ll put the link to his website and details in the description. Meeting place for the tour is just outside the entrance to the Alcazar by this monument and the cathedral is right there. Okay, apparently one of you have been here inside. No one. Okay, perfect. Prepare your phone. Prepare your camera because this area we’re going to stop here for its beauty, for its history, because something new here in Seir, even at 11° and hidden in Seir. So, [Music] Wow. Ole. Olay. Olay. Plaza Despa step there. Oh, wow. Oh, it’s huge. It’s massive. It’s much bigger than I expected to be. Oh, yeah. Yeah. around the semicircle. It’s got all the So, every province to the Every province in Spain in Spain has got their own little uh tiled Alakanti. Is Alakanti. There’s Elchie woman with bagels on on her ears. It’s 15 to go around the outside first. Yeah. Amazing. You can come in here for free. Yeah. [Music] There’s no distance from the cathedral really. If you came along the avenue, probably only 10 minutes walk. Sounds like some music down there. [Music] Dances. It’s beautiful. That child’s balance straight. [Music] It’s just beautiful. Look at the little cobalt things on the top there. [Music] The tiles inside as well. Ceiling. Is it only 100 years old? Did you say? I think so. Up to now. That’s Mercia. It’s nice. It’s nice that they got the maps as well everywhere, isn’t it? Yeah. It’s quiet around this end. Wonder what’s the last one. It’s Valencia. Zaragoa. Zamora. Zaragoa. It’s the last one. The first and the last one. Doesn’t have a province on it. Supposed to see. It’s got a picture of the bull in the middle. Oh, yeah. It’s huge. Something spectacular. Yeah. That’s a good view of it. Yeah, this is very spectacular. Mhm. Beautiful. That’s the Valencian flag. on the flags on the ceiling of the colonad and on the tile there and it also corresponds to the the area below too. Pictures never do it justice, do they? No. Come and see it yourself. Experience. The tiles are beautiful. like bronze ones. [Music] Can’t look and climb stairs at the same time. buskers. Nowadays, you can even pay by Revolute or QR code. [Music] Two for five the fans. It’s beautiful. All the tiles, isn’t it? Yeah. Do you want to go on a boat? Oh, give it a go. Don’t think so. I don’t think they can get the hang of it. She’s got a hang of it though. Yeah, this girl hasn’t. Oh, they’re swapping over. She can’t do it. Had enough now. She had a goat. That was Plaza Espa. What do you think of that? Oh, it’s fantastic. Yeah, it was fantastic. Really, that’s one of the most interesting places I’ve visited for quite a long time. And all for free. Yeah, absolutely. All for free. Very colorful. Yeah. And we got a perfect day for it cuz it wasn’t too hot. Quite humid though. Yeah. Welsh to Spanish. A journey’s a new one’s begun. Leaving behind familiar sites.

We loved Seville, we stayed in the Abba hotel over looking Las Setas de Sevilla in 2022 for Vera's birthday, we walked the structure at night, it was beautiful all lit up.
