👀 Los MEJORES MIRADORES de TOLEDO 👀 Museo del Ejército / La Catedral / Museo El Greco / Qué ver

The Imperial city is a leading destination in all of Spain, a world heritage city that hides a multitude of possibilities for the traveler. And in this video I tell you 5 essentials of this city that you cannot miss. Few cities have such an amalgamation of possibilities for the visitor; culture, gastronomy, monuments, history… Toledo is a major destination in every way. But like any place with these characteristics, there are things that you cannot miss if you visit it. Leaving out the night Toledo, which I already showed you in another video on the channel. And we are going to start with its tallest and most important building, the Cathedral of Santa María. This spectacular Gothic-style building is extremely attractive on the outside. Crowned by the slender 92-meter tower and its different facades and doors, especially the main one, the one that overlooks the town hall square. The interior is impressive due to its dimensions, 120 meters long and 59 meters wide, as well as its height at many points. The interior is imposing due to its size, without a doubt, but also because of how much there is to discover. A visit that will take a good part of your tourist day. Its multiple major and minor chapels. Its columns, vaults and ceilings. The frescoes and different works of art. The altarpieces. The chapter house. the sacristy Without forgetting, of course, its spectacular cloister. And… I assure you that this place impresses, it is also overwhelming due to its dimensions and the force it transmits. Besides… it’s just that it’s overwhelming, it’s even overwhelming, because of how much there is to see. The cathedral of Toledo alone is worth a visit to this city. But if something distinguishes Toledo, it is for its impressive number and variety of museums. As disparate as some of art, the museum of torture, the one of Santa Cruz, the Sephardic one in the transit synagogue, the one of the tapestries in the cathedral, the one of the Templars, or the one dedicated to magical Spain, and even one on the manchego cheese. But a separate museum is that of the army, in the Alcázar, where you will find many exhibitions on military history, models, weapons from different eras, armor and historical vehicles. The many and detailed recreations of different battles stand out, in very well detailed dioramas. In the patio you will find some more than striking vehicle, like the thousand times photographed helicopter. Its endless corridors will take you a long time to discover how much this museum offers about history, military art and pieces of all kinds. Without a doubt, you should take this visit very calmly so as not to miss anything. Nor can you miss the opportunity to admire, in detail, this historic and imposing building, with its cloisters as preferential places. Without leaving the chapter on museums, if something is linked to Toledo, it is its most universal artist and painter, El Greco. And of course, how could it be otherwise, forma has a museum dedicated to the work of this Cretan by birth, who nevertheless lived a large part of his life, including death, in the city of the Three Cultures, where he captured all his wealth. In the Museum you will discover most of his work, although curiously, his most notable work is not here, but a few steps away from it, in the church of Santo Tomé. There, the burial of the Count of Orgaz awaits us, his best-known important work and which perfectly shows the mastery of this author. This oil on canvas measuring 4.80 by 3.60 attracts all eyes. You cannot miss this must-see if you come to Toledo, at a cost of 3 euros. But, without a doubt, if there is something for which Toledo is famous throughout the world, it is for its incomparable panoramic view. Although this city, due to its geography and characteristics, offers the visitor an infinity of places that we could call viewpoints, to discover the best view or selfie of Toledo. We start with the lookout, an area next to the congress palace, where you can see the other Toledo, the one that lives in front of the historic area. With places like the Tavera hospital. Not far away, bordering the historic center, the Alcázar viewpoint awaits you, located next to this immense building, where you will see the river, bridges, the castle of San Servando and the Infantry Academy. We do not move away from the Alcázar, in fact we entered it, to discover its cafeteria, the one in the library of Castilla la Mancha, where for free, in addition to having a drink, you can see one of the most interesting views of the historic center. A privileged viewpoint and one that you should sign up for in red fire on your Route, is the one you will have at the top of the Jesuitas or San Ildefonso church, perhaps the most attractive building in the city. Baroque in style, with its elegant white decoration inside, which in itself deserves a good visit. The interior of that temple will be more than attractive, also having many corners to contemplate calmly. But if you mean privileged watchtowers, those of San Ildefonso, you will be surprised by what you will find at the top of its two Twin Towers, after a few flights of stairs. These 360-degree views, which include the beautiful dome of the temple, have one of the unique postcards of the Cathedral or the Alcázar, which are priceless, Oh… well yes, 3 euros will not taste like much, to be able to see this spectacular panorama of the city. Another viewpoint that you will find pleasant is the Paseo de San Cristóbal, very close to the El Greco museum, or the synagogue, with its garden areas. Another place that you should sign up for is the area of the San Martín bridge, with magnificent views of the river and the western part of the historic center, with the monastery of San Juan de Los Reyes as its focal point. But of course, if we talk about Toledo and its viewpoints, we have to leave its many places on the other side of the river for the end, to see those well-known images of this city. Beginning with the area of the Alcántara bridge, with the Alcázar as the great protagonist. Going up a bit along the road that borders the river, we have several places where we can contemplate or photograph, such as the area of the stone of the Moorish King, where you will have to climb a few meters along paths and fields, to have a very different view. We reached the viewpoints par excellence of the city, that of the Valley and the various extra viewpoints at points very close to each other, including that of the Parador. Very similar and where, here, you will have that world-famous image, especially powerful at sunset. This place is perfect to have a good time, enjoying these incomparable views. Play to find and name as many buildings as possible and end a hard day of tourism. And surely, many of you will arrive, or you will leave the city by train. And we cannot forget that Toledo is linked to Madrid by high-speed trains, in just over half an hour and its station is a separate chapter. The exterior was completely restored in 2016, so it now shines in all its splendor. Work of the architect Narciso Clavería, also author of the beautiful Linares station, now destined for municipal uses. In its more than 12,000 square meters, there are many details that attract attention. Outside, for example, of course its slender Tower, crowned by a clock. The rest of the façade has 5 doors for various accesses to the interior, with its entire structure decorated with multi-lobed arches and stepped battlements at the top. On the outside, it’s pretty but on the inside, look how cool it is… full of details to notice. They have preserved and restored the old elements very well, the ceramics on the walls, the ceilings, which are really amazing. And even to the ground. The truth is that… that’s how nice it is to wait for the train. Undoubtedly, the interior is more than striking, being a good example of Toledo crafts and goldsmithing. The mosaic tiles… The typical floor of many patios in Toledo… The latticework… The area with the old ticket offices… Or the ceiling, which surprises anyone who dares to look up, with its details and its impressive forged lamps. Without forgetting, of course, its windows, which surprise with their beautiful stained glass windows. On the platforms, the fusion between the classic and the modern is a good example of a good integration, since after the arrival of the bird, the area of tracks and platforms was completely changed with new roofs but respecting the Old, as you can see an endless number of possibilities . that Toledo offers to those who visit a city that requires much more than a day , even a weekend, to discover it as it deserves, subscribe to the enchanted channel, read your comments and remember, even the longest journey begins with a first step
