All the other the other the raindrop is is strong produce the ro. >> One huge problem for picaraba is the mechanization of harvest just by hand here is the farm have 80 hectares 80 hectares. Yeah, it's like the head of the plantation. All plantation here we have we have for stations in this field and all plantation is in this in this where is the the difference here in one day normally in the har now. Now we have 12 workers in the plantation. Mother of the ones doing fertilization but the har season is more important. Our season is many old people. The workers in Colia are going to stay all time here. is not the next time [music] is cor October, November and December, February, March of Colombia. They go everywhere. Yeah. >> Taking coffee every time. Yeah. The people. >> So they're professional. It's all good. Many [laughter] super good normally is minimum 150 kg. One basket here on the waist. One roll of sacks. Yeah. >> How many kilogram? >> 150 good coffee because it's the method for producer making and you only do 70. >> The coffee is exposed at ants rats to batter is necessary. Bring the coffee in the same day in the afternoon. The advantage of this location near the worker here just needs to come here in the sun but the water supervisor the coffee scale because the payment is by kilog for example 1 km away one station is called the sunset 1 km okay it's 930 either because of the other we can know for example 7,000 kg in 3 hours yeah this coffee beans destroy exactly many remember in the coffee some beans is floating some area is arriving for the reason the plantation had dist >> okay you're showing us the how to get the water >> right is dry right >> now this water stream is from 19th century technology in the 21 century >> that's how they get the water right Yeah. Yeah. This is a firehouse with many sugar of course for the fermentation and the coffee. Yeah. Many sugar and this material is sweet. Washing sugar filtering is okay. This the beans after is free of the possibilities of vinegar flavor or contamination by ants or rats attack medium mature removed with minimum diseases. Little holes, little holes. Yeah. This kind of coffee is not removed by rotation. The other kind from 8 to 11:00 is called dehydration in the yard. The traditional dehydration here is the coffee only machinery collect. >> Yeah, that's how the coffee the second class coffee come through there. There we go. After At the same time harvest season we choose the plant fertilizing many >> this is for the fertilizers >> the banana trees is fertilizing and it's fertilizing very rich in nitrogen and potassium the other compos yeah the skin of coffee the sawdust saw and magnesium from the seed mango can after we need do the disintegration disintegration is by bread this is the material process of bread yeah this is one part of the fertilizer the compressed fertilizer is 75% of this material and other 25 in phosphatus right >> the phosphorus phosates phosphat okay the majority of phosphates is combinated with other product for example how many product >> this is a compost thing [music] so how they do it they do a lot of the banana thing and then lot of the >> you know in Spanish is called granul like to fertilize in >> but the organic material The biomass the product with biological activities in the underground in the hole they like to for growing. >> So they when [music] they started they put the organic fertilizers. >> China have one biomass in the hole one and in the whole fertilize the plant. >> This is a compost size. So they put the different kind of thing or saying the all organic like when [music] they start first because the pressure in the airplane is this is one problem. Look at there produce a smell. We put it in the back open in this area. Dehumidifier [music] right this the machine that is making the sound is the dehumidifier. This is the running system. >> This is the package [music] over there. >> Thank you very much for understanding. Excellent. [laughter] >> How many coffee did you have before? >> I don't mind. [laughter] >> No wonder they start drinking at 11:00. A lot of tour goes on here. That we [music] just had pretty short tour. It was about hour and a half. It was a good tour. So beautiful. Look at it. Now she is >> I'm from USA. >> Okay. And US >> Germany. >> Germany. >> Ah. >> Multinational here. [music] >> That's fine. It's there. You go. Gracias. Spend about 2 hours here in coffee place. [music] How to grow coffee? How to process coffee to Z. They showed us and it was so beautiful. I was so learning [music] thing through the bamboo place. Now I am going to minka other people in the back. She is coming there. We are two motorcycle there. We had Oh my god. Look at this. Yes. That's what I'm talking about. Wow. We will eat more bamboo. [laughter] Look at this huge B. That man is trying to race in the bus. He's passing us. He's passing us. There you go. He pass. Mr. Army is there. No accident. Okay. Wow. The Wow. We got on the good road now. Going to go to Minka. We took a little bit more time than we supposed to, but hey, we are in [music] Colombia. There's no time. We're going down beautiful mountain under the cloud cloud going through that. It is good to take motorcycle sometime because you're outside and you can take the good video. Be careful. Hold it tight. Jeep to come here. But I rather have the motorcycle is there a winding road. We're going down. The mountain is there. It's cloudy. So we can see the mountain. Jeeps are going there. Hey everyone! 🌟 Welcome to Reza On The Journey! I’m super excited to have you join me as I share my adventure from Santa Marta to Minca. We took a Taxi from Santa Marta to Minca, and from there we took a motorbike deep into the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta to visit the stunning Pozo Azul waterfall. The waterfall was spectacular, and it was a beautiful spot where people were swimming and relaxing.
We then traveled further into the mountains to a coffee plantation called La Victoria. We spent a few hours there and took a guided tour of the farm. Our tour guide provided an extensive overview, and we had the chance to taste the coffee grown right on the plantation.
On our way back to Minca, we were treated to the sight of a beautiful cloud-covered mountain, which made
The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (English: Snow-Covered Mountain Range of Saint Martha) is an isolated mountain range in northern Colombia, separate from the Andes, which run through the north of the country. Reaching an elevation of 5,700 m (18,700 ft) just 42 km (26 mi) from the Caribbean coast, the Sierra Nevada is the highest coastal range in the tropics, and one of the highest coastal ranges in the world, being 250 metres (820 ft) shorter than the Saint Elias Mountains in Canada. The Sierra Nevada encompasses about 17,000 km2 (6,600 sq mi) and serves as the source of 36 rivers. The range is in the Departments of Magdalena, Cesar, and La Guajira.
The highest point of the Sierra Nevada group (and Colombia in general) may be either Pico Cristóbal Colón or Pico Simón Bolívar, both in the municipalities of Santa Marta and Aracataca; it has yet to be determined which is higher. SRTM data and local topographic maps indicate their accurate elevations are approximately 5,700 m (18,700 ft), lower than the 5,775 m (18,947 ft) elevation often quoted.
The next morning, we headed inland toward the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta — the highest coastal mountain range in the world. In less than 45 minutes, the climate transforms from tropical beach to lush mountain jungle.”
Our journey through Santa Marta and the Sierra Nevada was filled with waterfalls, mountain trails, and the warm spirit of Colombia. And this is only the beginning — next, we explore Parque Tayrona and the coastline. Stay tuned, and thank you for joining us.”
Experience the incredible journey from Bogotá to Santa Marta, Colombia — from Caribbean coastlines to the breathtaking mountains of the Sierra Nevada. In this episode, we explore the charming town of Minca, swim in the Pozo Azul waterfall, and tour the historic La Victoria Coffee Plantation.
