The Sagrada Familia, the great masterpiece of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, often known as the Architect of God, stands as one of the most extraordinary architectural and spiritual creations in modern history.
After more than a century of construction, the basilica is reaching a decisive milestone with the completion of the central tower dedicated to Jesus Christ, crowned by the monumental Cross. This symbolic culmination is scheduled for 10 June 2026, marking the centenary of Gaudí’s death, and will make the Sagrada Familia the tallest church in the world — a universal symbol of faith, art, and architectural genius.
However, the project will continue with the construction of the majestic Glory Façade, considered the theological and artistic synthesis of the entire temple. This final façade will depict the biblical narrative from the Resurrection of Jesus Christ to humanity’s ultimate salvation, completing Gaudí’s visionary program. Its completion is expected around 2035, when the basilica will finally fulfil the spiritual and architectural vision imagined by its creator.
The Sagrada Familia is not merely a building, but a sacred dialogue between stone, light, and geometry — a masterpiece where architecture and spirituality unite to elevate the human spirit toward the divine.
