Sequoia National Park, forested area of 629 square miles (1,629 square km) in the Sierra Nevada, east-central California, U.S. Sequoia National Park was established in 1890 to protect groves of big trees, or giant sequoias, which are among the world’s largest and oldest living things.
The largest big tree in the park is known as the General Sherman Tree and is thought to be 2,300 to 2,700 years old. Although the General Sherman Tree, 274.9 feet (83.8 metres) high, is not as tall as some of the California coast redwoods and its circumference at its base (102.6 feet, or 31.3 metres) is not as great as that of a cypress growing near Oaxaca, Mexico, it is, in terms of volume, the world’s largest living thing. It stands in a section of the park called the Giant Forest, which is home to five of the ten largest trees in the world (by volume).

Wonderful video!! 👌🏻
Been there several times. God truly kissed the sky with these trees. Walk in their presence and it clears the sole. Beautiful beautiful place. Thank you God for this creation!
Great video😊😊😊
My friend worked for this park, 30+ years in maintenance, last 5 as a shop supervisor. He had to take a class at College of the Sequoias,Visalia to qualify to promote. The class was all young people dressed in business attire. He had to hustle to get to class on time after work, maybe an hour commute, no time to change from workshop clothes. The Final was a power point presentation, each showing their job & worksite. His opening scene
was 'The Four Guardsmen', 4 huge redwood trees straddling the mountain road, turned out to a lot of 'ooohs & ahhhs' and how do you go about getting a job at Sequoia Park? He passed the final, did his last years of his career, made many improvements, felt comfortable with what he passed down to the next man. Pretty good guy.
