Day 56 | Dangerous River Crossing | Sierra Nevada Mountains | Pacific Crest Trail Thru Hike

good morning day 56 um feeling so good it’s waking up to a beautiful morning we got a chill day of about 10 miles and everybody slept in it’s almost 7:00 nobody’s really moving and that’s quite all right how you doing baby trying out our sleeping BS good morning morning morning continue little bit of frost on the inside of our tent look how Instagram works one time I was watching like a a baseball play mhm there’s bougie and somewhere taking off I am here filtering some more water uh it’s been a super chill morning had double coffee and breakfast and hung out it’s lovely we only actually have 8.4 miles to go so everybody’s kind of just doing their own thing taking a chill we’ve got a pretty hard day coming up tomorrow so um Bobby’s over there painting getting some painting in before we head out it is 9:30 had just a great morning just lathering up some sunscreen it is A4 to 11 and Bobby and I are officially off boy we took our time this morning but it was nice 8.4 miles to go might be an easy day might even skip lunch just go on to the next Camp starting to climb y’all feel I’m pretty tired this is day five out in the Sierra so 5 days of food carry there still two more days to go well one really hard day tomorrow like I’ve said and then one half day as we take a blue blaze Trail into Lone Pine um lazy morning is nice but also feeling kind of really tired today little worn out happy that we have a shorter day um how you feeling baby feeling good tired but good yeah yeah getting really excited to get into town um we’ started rationing our food so that we have plenty of food for tomorrow so basically all the like snacks and stuff I’m saving for tomorrow so feeling a little bit hungry uh already but that’s good and um yeah just finished getting water and we about to head off again where you at there he is um we have five miles to camp and we’re crushing are you doing just rolling up my pants ah ready yep never Crossing [Music] we are at 11,000 ft and I am hiking through through snow currently with already wet shoes from our two River Crossings today got a field of snow ahead of me I would take off my sunglasses but the glare from the snow is actually so bright I’m squinting through my sunglasses um tomorrow we go up to 13,000 ft which is going to be awesome considering how much snow I’m walking through right now at 11,000 ft wo oh just amazing look at this just amazing feels like a different planet huh yeah but it’s our planet is that cool amazing there’s some water over there it’s like a frozen glacial pool we walking on snowf free area hear that Echo I did have a uh kind of unrealistic or maybe realistic I don’t know fear as we were crossing the snow because we’re way finding right now there’s no Trail it’s covered in snow and had a thought that the snow could potentially be hiding holes like that water you saw over there or like I don’t know a ravine or something um anyways just keep hiking just keeps getting more unreal I just can’t stop recording cuz it just so freaking beautiful where we’re we’re just exactly where we wanted to be aren’t we yeah we’re almost there it’s crazy because Bobby and I both thought that the Sierra was just going to be like just completely covered in snow just everywhere just a big giant snow pack but this is unreal this is like spring this is this feels like this is how the Sierra should be viewed like the first time it’s just it’s just crazy [Applause] okay taking beds for which one we think it’s Forester amazing just amazing our first little ice bridge I didn’t make it for you want me here we are ready to help our friends across e w thank you I don’t like to change up my technique that’s enough leg thank you for W everybody made it we are officially setting up tents and camping the official leave time is 3:00 a.m. eatting Ramen again just chilling amazing just just look right there no views tramy made it we all made it we’re all alive you hear people talking it’s 5:30 and everybody’s getting ready for bed bougie’s already in his tent somewhere and Road Runner are like way over there we all had we all had uh dinner together which was nice and um again we’re set for leaving at 3:00 a.m. tomorrow tomorrow so I think Bobby and I will get up around 1:30 a.m. somewhere gave everybody some benad drils so we’re all going to pop a Benny hopefully help us sleep this early the sun’s still out we got a quite a few hours of sunlight left but looking forward to uh going to bed getting some sleep it is um 5:54 calling it dunzo we headed to bed see you tomorrow later dudes hope we don’t die oh yeah we’re doing Forester past tomorrow yeah 13,000 ft 13,200 oh so yeah we’re getting up at 1:30 a.m. out of here by 3 here we go y we got this got this

  1. Yall make a lovely couple 🫠 and im here for it… please be careful with thos river crossing it doesnt make much to get washed away. I definitely don't want to see anyone get washed away. 😢… hikeing in that snow will ware you faster than just regular hikeing for sure…. 7:24 so like where is trail at ??? How do you know where to go??? 🤯…. that last river crossing gave me super anxiety 🤯😵‍💫😵 glad everyone made it ok.

  2. Amazing river crossing. I just finished watching RR's video on Forester Pass as she is posting a day ahead of you. Can't wait to see our footage tomorrow. Be safe.
