Camino del Norte | Stage 2: San Sebastian to Zarautz
[Music] oh [Music] gosh H Buenas good morning and hello we are walking out of San Sebastian today we have about 23 km to go and Michelle give us the weather update first I’m sad that we’re leaving San Sebastian it is beautiful but we have so many more towns to look forward to so I’m not that sad but we’re wearing raincoats again fortunately though you know what I think is really great is we had a great weather meaning not raining uh yesterday on our rest day cuz no one wants to be wet on their rest day it doesn’t make you want to get out and see the place so that was nice I think the rain is not going to last too long I’m hoping but um it is supposed to rain big time this afternoon so our goal is to try to get in as quickly as possible so we are taking the pink route on wise Pilgrim which we think we figured out is the bike route we think unfortunately that’s the one thing I that isn’t totally clear to me as so which colors they are and I even looked on the Forum it was struggling I don’t know 23 kilm to Zer outs I don’t know if I’m saying that right or not but that’s where we’re going it’s how I’m saying it but uh before we head out of town we’re going to try to find some [Music] breakfast we climbed a really big hill it was a really big hill stoping and um we stopped at this uh hotel and they don’t normally serve breakfast for people who aren’t guests they were very kind and they fed us breakfast thank goodness because I didn’t know how hungry I was until I inhaled a lot of hamono um and drank a lot of coffee um but one of the things he said is that it’s not normally like this which I just feel very sad that it’s not normally like this and then he said that we’re going to keep climbing climbing climbing and then we’re going to roll down a billy big hill I think that’s going to be the theme of The Summer it’s not normally like this and we’re going to go up a really big hill and down a really big hill but Vos let’s [Music] go so beautiful [Music] [Music] okay according to the elevation chart we are walking down a steep hill right now but guess what instead we’re going uphill and I think there could be a view hold on if I don’t follow moral of the story never believe the elevation chart [Music] [Music] wow oh wine wine wine right there baby wine [Music] wine see don’t worry about the S woo [Music] we made it to zasta that’s not how you say it this is what it looks like and this is what it sounds like set out between the Basque and the Spanish we’re struggling just a little bit and it’s obviously on the hour because the Chimes are of the church are going off at the check-in the woman at the desk said how do you like the Camino and I said we walked Arun to San Sebastian on Sunday and she said oh she said so today was beautiful and I said it was it was it was rainy this morning but honestly I’ll take it over a rest day and um it it’s cool temperatures which I’ll take over um the um the heat uh and it wasn’t raining and the sun is shining right now even though it’s dark behind us cuz we have the sun in front of us um today’s walk was difficult ult but much much easier than day one um even weather non withstanding and it’s easier than tomorrow is going to be tomor to be hard day so it’s like honestly so far i’ compare this to um walking the Pyrenees every day Kinda Yeah adios AO we’ll see you on the next video thanks for watching
Episode 238:ℹ️ Stage 2 on the Camino del Norte starts in the beautiful beach town of San Sebastián and ends in Zarautz. While still a difficult day of walking with over 500 meters (1640 feet) of total climbing, the day was a little easier than day number 1 from Irun, mostly thanks to a rest day to recuperate. The weather is still chilly with occasional showers but our spirits are high because of the spectacular views!

What a day!! From rain to sunshine, it was amazing but of those hills! Tell us what you think below! 👇🏼
Loved this video my very smiley friends. The hills are tough but your spirit is stronger. Big hugs. x
Even through the rain, the scenery is beautiful.
This really so much fun to watch you and its nice to see you singing no matter what! Lots of ups and downs! LOL! I always think you do quite well with the Spanish it was fun that you added the proper way to say things LOL! We are doing some traveling in a few weeks and hope we get through it without destroying to many words but only one way to learn. You are really enjoying the journey and thats my favorite part of watching you both! Safe Travels!
