La Ruta del Azahar – stunning scenery and orange groves in Granada’s Lecrin Valley #hiking #granada
The Lecrin Valley in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada National Park in Granada provides a stunning backdrop to this adventure. La Ruta del Azahar means the route of the orange blossom – and there was certainly plenty of oranges to surround me on this beautiful walk.
A short, easy day hike – 7.25km in total with only around 160m of ascent on largely well marked trails
Itinerary
Starting at the village of Murchas, walking through the Rio Torrente valley to the village of Melegis before heading to the stunning remains of Castillo de Lojuela (573m) and returning to Murchas village
