Plaza de España is one of Seville’s most breathtaking landmarks, built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition. Designed in a grand Renaissance Revival style with Mudéjar influences, the plaza features a sweeping semicircular building surrounding a large central square with a canal crossed by picturesque bridges. Colorful ceramic tiles (azulejos) adorn the walls, depicting scenes from each of Spain’s provinces. Visitors can stroll along the canal, rent a rowboat, or admire the ornate towers and fountains that make this plaza a true architectural masterpiece.

Adjacent to the plaza lies the lush Maria Luisa Park (Parque de María Luisa), Seville’s most famous green space. Donated by the Duchess of Montpensier in the 19th century, the park is a tranquil oasis filled with exotic plants, shaded walkways, fountains, and decorative pavilions. Highlights include the Plaza de América, known for its stunning tiled benches and pigeon-filled square, as well as the Museo de Artes y Costumbres Populares and the Archaeological Museum.
