  1. There's always somebody who jumps in the snow runoff and sinks to the bottom, usually some college kid.. almost happened to me one time took the breath right out of me..

  2. Hey Peter, I met you up at the Bristlecone with your flat tire. Just so you know, the word Sierra means mountains, so the proper way to say it would be Eastern Sierra, Sierra Nevada ect.

  3. We have hundreds of these hikes in Washington State. There are also hundreds of these in Idaho. As a trail correspondent for Washington Trail Association I hike almost every weekend. Come to Leavenworth, Washington and get a permit to camp in The Enchantments. It is a magical place with about 11 of these lakes along the trail. A 22 mile loop trail from Stuart Lake Trailhead to the first lake called Colchuck Lake then up across Asguard Pass at 7800 feet and then downill for 18 miles thru 10 beautiful blue Alpine Lakes. It is magnificent with lots of beautiful waterfalls.Get a copy of Green Trail Map 802 or Alpines Lakes Wilderness.

  4. I’ve hiked this trail before!😮 seeing as I don’t barely hike ever, it was interesting 😊

..At first.. at the time, I didn’t have as much experience/muscle strength to safely do this hike. It’s not even a hardcore one either. I was just weak. We hiked to the Lon Chaney cabin and about halfway through the way up, an injury that didn’t heal correctly flared up. I got it from ballet class a year prior and didn’t know it didn’t heal. It was like- a real bad strain in the piriformis or something around there that just didn’t get better. Wasn’t bad enough for the doctor. I thought I could just press through and get there, rest, and go home. Nope. I almost fell down the mountain twice coming back. I had to use my cousins waking stick as a crutch the entire time bc my leg kept giving out. I was there with my younger cousin and grandpa who have hiked essentially all their lives. My grandma who was absolutely able enough to do this and my younger brother. The 3rd most fit out of all of us. I wasn’t alone. But from what I remember. The hike was beautiful. Just make sure you aren’t a twig ready to snap in the wind 🥲👍

  5. I’ve been there before I have a picture taken in at exact spot you showed in the frame of me on a rock. I remember it really well me and my friends were collecting Sap from the trees. And fighting with swords.

  6. Would this hike, well, not the entire 10-15 miles, be dog friendly?? Would it be easy for a medium size to get through, without encountering too many people, because he's NOT strange-people friendly at all?
