Mallorca, Cap de Formentor: most iconic cycling ride on the island?

It’s my second year in Mallorca, on a great cycling holiday arranged by Moloko Cycling. Maybe the ride to the lighthouse at Cap de Formentor is the most iconic ride on the island.

As usual I am wearing a kit courtesy of Siroko Cycling: if you would like to shop for Siroko kit you can use my direct link to access a version of their website where prices will be further reduced by an additional 10%, no need for other codes. Thank you!

  1. Thankyou for sharing. Pleasant video in fine weather, good for cycling. Greetings from Melbourne, in the big brown bastard country., down under.
Really enjoy your videos, you have sparkling personality !

  2. Have to say Fede great 1st Vlog you’re making pretty much every rider stuck in the uk 🇬🇧 very jealous!!!!! The kit & bikes look superb!! Have a brilliant week enjoy the sun & bring back a slice for the uk please 👍🏽

  3. Wow…What a superb video Federico loved that one buddy, thank you for sharing and all of your efforts bringing your excellent videos to us🤜🤛

  4. Just back yesterday from Mallorca. Great time. Appreciate your content, but this focus on cycling fashion is so exclusionary. We need more people in cycling, but seeing big groups in really expensive kit is quite off putting. Appreciate you being a Siroko ambassador, but let’s not promote Maap and PNS as any way good for cycling. Saw loads of cycling wankers in Mallorca tbh. All fashion and no riding.

  5. Fantastic stuff Federico. I am in awe. Great people to ride with. I bet it hurts coming back to London after the brief exposure to paradise 😊
I hope those women walking past you at the end didn't think you were crazy, when you were talking to your rim brakes😂😂

  6. the Soller loop climbing out on the Col de Soller and returning through Esporles, passing by Valldemosa, through Deia, and back into Soller is one of my favorites. Definitely a trek to do that from Pollenca though! (i stayed in Deia last time in Mallorca) the switchbacks on the Col de Soller are a blast.

  7. Awesome, looking forward to it when im back on the island in a couple of weeks, especially as the road is now closed to cars. Will try and do Albercutx too, have you done it?

  8. I've done the Cap De Formentor, it was incredible. The first climb I found to be the toughest part, getting to the lighthouse felt like a real achievement and there was a LOT of other riders. We got to the lighthouse by about 10am.

BUT for anyone who wants something similar, on the east coast of Mallorca (not a particular hotspot for cycling to be honest) try Sant Salvador & Castell De Santueri.

Sant Salvador is a monastery at the top of a serpentine climb and Castell De Santueri is similar. If you do both from Cala D'Or its a 34 mile ride with 3200ft roughly. It's an enjoyable ride but I didn't see many other riders, as the east coast is not very hilly. I mention this in case anyone is on the Cala D'or side of the island and fancies a ride.
