About Siachen Glacier Base Camp :
The world’s highest battlefield, Siachen Glacier, is now open for tourists, Defense Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh announced on 21st Oct 2019. Tourism will be allowed from Siachen base camp to Kumar Post that lies above 15,000 feet.

Siachen Glacier lies in the Karakoram range of Northern Himalayas, just near the LoC with Pakistan. It’s highest point is at Indira Col at an altitude of 5753 meters – 3600 meters. Due to boundaries with China and Pakistan, Siachen Glacier has a strategic importance for Indian Army being called the Highest Battel Field in the world.

We welcome our guest to explore this unexplored world’ of Ladakh. Witness the thrilling experience of our great Indian Army protects our boundaries in extreme weather conditions. Earlier this area was restricted for tourist but now open for all Indian National.

Inner Line Permit is essential to obtain from Leh office.
Health Condition
Siachen Base Camp to Kumar post has an elevation of 11000 ft to 15000 ft which is more than the Leh elevation. Though visit Siachen Base camp only is not a problem as you will be acclimatized well before reaching the base camp. If you are planning to reach at Kumar post you must consult your doctor to visit on this elevation. Any person has sugar, high blood pressure, lungs related issues, Asthma, breathing issues etc. Must avoid visiting SBC.

Best time to visit
Siachen Glacier base camp can be approachable in the month of April onwards till October. However May to September is recommended to visit SBC.
