Exploring Cathedral Lakes in Yosemite National Park #yosemite #backpacking
With camp set up, it was time to enjoy the evening and explore the Cathedral Lakes area. The Cathedral Lakes are in Yusede’s high country. They each sit above 9,000 ft and were carved by ancient glaciers and are framed by granite peaks. The most popular way to access trails to the lakes are from the Twallomni Meadows area. This is accessible via Tyogga Road. So, it’s important to note that this is only accessible when Tyogga Road is open, typically June through October. After that, the snow closes the gates the area. This route is part of the John Mure Trail, a famed backpacking trail throughout the Sierra Neadas. It was the perfect place to enjoy some alpine quiet and mess around with my new
