    Hiking Half Dome, Yosemite National Park, USA [Amazing Places 4K]

    Long day hike to the top of Half Dome, Yosemite National Park, with outstanding views of Vernal and Nevada Falls, Half Dome, Yosemite Valley and the High Sierra.
    The trail is 14 mi/22.4 km long (round trip, via Vernal and Nevada Falls), elevation gain 4800 ft/1475 m. Two metal cables allow hikers to climb the last 400 feet to the summit.

      My dad died a few months ago and his funeral was yesterday. I just sobbed watching this. We went to Yosemite every year when I was a kid. I've hiked Half Dome twice and it's such a spiritual experience. I'm so grateful my dad introduced me to nature at an early age, thank you for posting

      Spectacular video! Yes condolences Mason. You were very fortunate to have your father intro you to a place as amazing as Yosemite at a young age. I made it there when i was 14 and did a week or maybe it was a ten day course called the Yosemite Institute. Park Rangers taking us on hikes and teaching us about the mountain ecology. After that i was hooked. Made countless backpacking trips all over the Sierras and returned to Yosemite whenever possible. Some 50 years later Yosemite is my favorite place on earth.

      I did this years ago with a friend and we did it in 2 days camping above the falls and doing Half Dome the next day. Catching the spray by the falls is a nice cool off.
