Reaching the Highest Village in Spain: Trevélez – Sierra Nevada Part 6
Welcome back to Part 6 of my Sierra Nevada motorcycle adventure!
Continuing the climb through the Alpujarras, we leave Pitres and push higher into the mountains. Passing through Pórtugos and Busquístar, we officially enter the Sierra Nevada Natural Park.
The goal of this episode is reaching Trevélez. At 1,476m (4,842ft), it holds the title of the highest municipality in mainland Spain (with over 500 inhabitants).
It’s a ride of breathtaking valley views, culminating in a town famous for two things: tourists and its world-renowned cured ham (Jamón).
This marks the end of our journey along the southern face. Next up: the eastern slopes.
