well hello there and good morning today is the day we step off into the Sierra everyone’s getting ready last final touches got smooth over there on the cell phone gadget’s ready to go waiting on us going to try to get about 14 15 miles in the day of the Kern River I will keep you posted on our progress see you in a bit ow hey Ranger here just checking in got about 3 miles in on the trail it’s been uh kind of nice since we broke the campground area for Kennedy Meadows got the river right next to us a lot of trees coming up here the river right there uh not much elevation gain yet that uh won’t happen probably for uh three or four more miles I think but yeah it’s just kind of nice to get back into the Pines [Music] [Applause] [Music] Bridge Crossing very nice Bridge here almost hit my head on that tree hey how’s it going so we’ve uh started our little uphill uphill descent the first one since leaving Kennedy Meadows it starts off kind of slow but then gradually gets a little steeper and we’ll only probably pick up maybe a little over a th feet of elevation gain in like the next 3 or four miles probably so not horrendous but after a couple days off jump right back into it but got some good views over there as you can see coming up to this Meadow up here and of course I didn’t mentioned earlier but I am back with the trampling hey smooth and Gadget so all right see you in a bit [Music] [Applause] hey how’s it going so I got done with a little ways back and now we’re kind of moving down towards our possible Camp spot at the kar River it’s a cool little Bridge there that a bunch of birds made nests under so definitely give some video of that but this is the view we’re walking into now look at that look at that all the snow mountain over there the big Meadow love it all right talk to you in a bit [Music] all right just hit a little stream going to water up here it’ll be our last water up before the campsite um it’s only like 3 miles miles away but we were all out of water so just had to get it going see when he seees smooth legs you think he’s white but he actually the paste on it to make him white you’re either white or red or peel it [Music] [Applause] hello there just about to the campsite uh but I have an amazing view so I just kind of wanted to show that as I roll in so that’s the Kern River right there and then we’re going to be just camping uh right over this Ridge right here it goes down we’ll be right next to the the river and then I don’t know if you see out there the trail goes all the way down through that Meadow we’ll be hitting that tomorrow probably so yeah so that’s what’s going on right now almost a camp kick the feet up all right so this bridge has a bunch of swallows under it uh it’s less this year than in years’s past I imagine because of last year with the snow and the rain levels probably a lot of them got washed away but uh last time I was here there were just hundreds of birds nest all the way across but not quite so many today what do you think guys fans of the Kur River oh man it’s awesome very nice good today is the water cold it’s a bit it’s a bit chilly in my world yeah your fans want to see a no they my fans want to see other people jump well hello there and good morning getting an early start this morning earlyish 6:30 I’m going to try to do 20 miles today maybe 19 um so we can get a good uh setup for a resupply tomorrow but night was great A little chilly this morning a little Frost but probably be our last warm morning for a while I think we hit snow today probably just some patches but other than that all good oh one more thing today is my birthday yep so catch you down the trail oh and one more thing I just want to point out if you see the bridge back there uh just above that and the trees is where we camped really nice campsites flat guarded by the trees nice let me show you real quick where we’ll be heading [Music] today out of my mind how could I be soind how could I not see awake on the floor looking up wanting more this is so unreal I must have been wrong guess you all love is strong for him why would it not be he’s always there for you I keep living [Music] alone where so far from [Music] home hey how you doing Ranger here so I’m uh about a little over six miles in for the day and almost 24 ft of ele 100 ft of elevation gain it’s been a lot uphill today but uh it’s been nice walking through the trees most of it was Shady some of it was exposed but most was shady and I mean the views they are pretty good hit our first couple snow patches just walked right over them no big deal um yeah and uh got our first taste of some mosquitoes too not too happy about that but we’ll just keep pushing got a few more 100 ft of uh gain to go going up that way so talk to you in a [Music] bit hard you be standing on your own hard you be standing on your own you knock me down swep my feet off the ground left me on the floor hard to resist got me look like this like the one before cuz I must be strong cuz this might go on for long I was and he’s hey Ranger here so we just watered up and we’re heading back uphill got another big climb we’re going to try to make our campsite probably 18 or 19 miles for the day but woo it has been a lot of uphill been up over uh 10,000 ft for a lot of the day once we got up here and we’ll be camping over 10,000 tonight but can’t wait hopefully we’ll get a beautiful sunset up there [Music] I keep living alone where so far from [Music] home free but ready to flee from this all or to be standing on your own to be standing on your [Music] left on the [Music] floor all right made it in the camp tonight 19 miles this is my site it’s getting a little chilly but uh yeah you can see the snow on the background right there smooth setting up over there and Gadget over by that tree I’m going to goe and show you a view of what we’re seeing tonight in the Owens Valley all right of how could I be soind how could I not see I must have been wrong cuz your love is strong for why would it not be he’s always there for you all right here we go happy birthday happy birthday Ranger happy birthday 53 53 cheers woohoo oh come on man brother wish it was bigger cake a jumbo honey bun woo happy birthday all right celebrating up here at what 10,600 ft yeah wow incredible view out here nice place for a birthday party right here keep
