PALMA DE MALLORCA -Part 1

Hello, my friends! If you want to like, comment, share or subscribe I’ll be very happy! As always, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the friendship and affection you always show me through your visits and comments.
This is the first of two videos dedicated to my recent visit to Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the island, at the beginning of November 2024.
It was a very short getaway of two and a half days that however allowed me to get to know a splendid city, rich in history, beauty and charm.
Unfortunately, I would have liked, on the last morning before leaving, to visit the Old Town even better than what I had already done in the previous two days, but a very unpleasant episode occurred that ruined our trip a bit. My husband was robbed of his wallet with cash, credit cards and documents, so we spent the last hours available in the Police Office… Not a nice way to end a vacation, is it?
Anyway, unfortunately these things can happen.
Friends, in this first video, after showing you the Hotel where we stayed and that I recommend, I will take you to discover the beauty of Palma, a city with a thousand-year-old past where its most precious jewel shines, a splendid Gothic Cathedral that I will show you in full in the next video.
Walking and admiring the Llotja, the ancient Stock Exchange building also in Gothic style, we will take ourselves right next to the Cathedral and the Royal Palace of Almudaina, where the Royal family still stays when they are in Mallorca. A walk along the Paseo Dalt Murada allows you to have a wide view of the Parc de la Mar, up to the sea on one side and the splendid buildings that open onto the old city on the other.
We will visit the ancient Arab Baths, an incredible Moorish jewel and their gardens, so fascinating, and then we will go deeper into the Old Town, visiting the wonderful Basilica of Sant Francesc and its precious cloister.
We will discover the delightful Placa da Cort, where a wonderful 600-year-old olive tree dominates and where the Town Hall is also located and nearby two very important modernist buildings, Can Corbella and Can Forteza Rey..
Then we will admire the very central Placa Major to finally arrive at the Passeig Des Born, the elegant avenue, the city lounge where you can stop and admire the comings and goings of people in the various cafes.
The video ends at the Parc de la Mar, with a wonderful view of the Cathedral and the Almudaina Palace.
I recommend you get lost in the Old Town and its aimless cobbled streets. A truly timeless charm that will allow you to fully enjoy the charm of Palma.
It’s a shame I couldn’t discover it as I would have liked. But there will be a way to return and it will be the occasion to visit the whole island of Mallorca which is simply wonderful.
Friends, I thank you as always for being here on my channel and leaving me your comments and your precious support. They mean the world to me.
A big hug from Milan and all the very best to you.
Enjoy!Renata
