Solo backpacking in the high Sierra & dropping my phone in the lake #solobackpacker #solobackpacking

I went solo backpacking in the High Sierra and dropped my phone in the lake here’s how it went I packed everything I needed to survive for the night in my backpack and first hiked through the CER fire burn scar this Wildfire was caused by a bullet strike and burned over 221,000 acres in 2021 and goes to show that you should always be careful and follow fire restrictions at one point I heard something give a warning growl in the bushes very close to where I was standing so I calmly booed it down the trail and didn’t stick around to find out what it was when I feel like a mountain lion is around I like to turn my sunglasses around on the back of my head just in case after a couple miles I reached the lake set up camp and went for a swim I learned the hard way that you should never take your pants off with your phone in an unbuttoned pocket on a slope beside a lake so my phone fell in the water but I managed to grab it before it fell deeper and after a few moments of panicking I realized it survived I watched a classic before bed and woke up to a beautiful morning I ate a very typical American breakfast of coffee and chicken curry before packing up and heading back to the car all in all a short and sweet W nighter and you can find the full video on my YouTube channel

So much fun and probably used all my karma for the year in retrieving a functional phone 😮‍💨 Excited to train to be a stronger hiker and do longer trips 🏕️
