Two hidden gems near the Spanish steps in Rome
went by the Spanish Steps in Rome Walk This Way you’re in for something just amazing take VI propaganda until you see this church now go inside this is the Church of s Andrea deat get closer to the Altar and on the side you’ll find these two Precious Angels these were sculpted by berini but originally they were not supposed to be here these were actually made for S Angelo bridge but when the pop saw them he thought they were too precious to be left outdoors and so he kept them for himself
The story of these angels ⤵️
Bernini was a sculptor.. and also an entrepreneur. In fact he was commissioned a lot of work, and he took all of it, thanks to the help of his assistants.
His assistants were of course great sculptors, but Bernini just gave that little extra magic to his marbles..
When he was commissioned the statues on Ponte Sant’Angelo (bridge leading to Castel Sant’Angelo), depicting the elements of the via Crucis of Jesus, he only personally produced 2 out of the 10 statues that you see today: the one holding the INRI sign and the one with the crown of thorns.
Once the statues were completed the Pope considered these two angels too precious to be left outdoors on the bridge. So he had two copies made by Bernini’s assistants and kept these two originals for himself.
Shortly after the Pope died and the angels were transferred to Palazzo Bernini (in via della Mercede, right next to this church). Until in 1729 they were moved to the church where we can see them today (Sant’Andrea delle Fratte)
Have you ever seen these gems? They are incredible to see this close 🤩

Another thing I missed and have to go back for
Pope was right. SO precious to be on the bridge.
Sul ponte non li puoi vedere per i lavori del giubileo 😅
amazing
Yeah massive edit in the video, not right there ,its actually a walk away
This church is beautiful ❤ don’t forget to check the indoor garden inside!
Love Rome…
Not to forget Our Lady appeared to a man called Alphonse Ratisbonne in this church at the side chapel opposite this statue. Also, St Maximilian Kolbe celebrated his first Mass as a newly ordained priest in the same side chapel Our Lady appeared in. St Kolbe was martyred in Auschwitz.
They are definitely beautiful. This church also has a beautiful cloister. Thank you for all your wonderful videos 🙏❤
Italy is the best place for absolutely stunning art. Loved every minute I was there.
Always show us the organ 🙂

Were they placed there from the start or did they put them there after bernini’s death? I don’t think he would have been so happy to place them under Borromini’s dome
Italy is breathtaking
Nice church a stone's throw from his house.a stone's throw from his house.😉
I've been in there, very pretty.
Glorious ☘️💚
Sorry i really cant with the accent, like, speak english or italian, but pick one!
The truth is that wherever you are in Rome you will see beauty.
(I mean the historical centre, which is quite large. The outskirts of Rome, the most modern areas of Rome, aren't as beautiful.
Espania.. is used by Royal Family of Aosta Savoia.. Mafalda Aosta and Armando Savoia.. Felipe and Sofia is descendant.. and is Reyna Lorena..
They are gorgeous. And if you’re adventurous you’ll find McDonalds. Yeah they do taste like what we make here, but you can have a beer or glass of wine with your Big Mac.
מכיוון שאבו נעים קיבל איסור על אוכל של מלומדים צ'רקסים, הוא מבקש להפסיק את האוכל של דגים.🇨🇨🇯🇴🇮🇱
I lived two hundred metres from there for two years. Rome is in my heart. Or…Roma Capoccia.
